what is the appeal of autumn? the crunching of the leaves under foot?
the colors? the smells? the cooler air? harvest moon? i’m sure all of these things contribute- they certainly do for me.

so, why do the leaves change color? i heard one young girl say that she thought the leaves changed because they were dying because the tree did not need them for the winter. as the leaves dried up, they changed color.
not entirely wrong but not exactly accurate either. we’ll explore some of the science in the next post.

Intro
i was not sure what to call this blog since i have no idea what the content will be.
technically, that’s untrue. i do have some ideas for the blog but need to sift them about a bit and make sure i want to commit to one of them.
Why
i created this blog as an assignment for a library science course about high-tech learning taught by Annette Lamb through IUPUI.
Brooksie…?
my last name is Brooks and Brooksie was what i was called playing sports when i was young. it was also a nickname of my dad’s. and, as i said above, since i was unsure about the nature of this blog, i thought naming it after myself but in a sideways kind of way might be the best thing to do.
A photo of myself
…at Niagara Falls contemplating the end of my nose.

so, sit back, relax, and i’m sure i’ll fill in some kind of content before the weekend is over!
